Trump by this statement is making a play to bring under his wing the Palinista’s of which there are not a few.
If Trump gets the nomination (and that’s a big if) I’m guessing he will pick Cruz as his VP.
I say this for two reasons:
1. Cruz and Trump seem to be, for the most part, ideologically aligned on a great many issues.
2. That meeting that they had a few weeks ago. The details have been kept below the radar but it would not surprise me if they both made some kind of agreement to support each other and/or choose the other to run on the same ticket.
