I watched it at the time and my impression was he was just stating an opinion, not an “attack”. If he’d said a similar thing about Hillary, would you have thought it was an attack? Lots of commentators have a cynical perspective and look for political motives where they may or may not be present.
As much as I like Cruz, I tend to agree with Hume’s analysis.
Hannity and Baier, that’s all I trust to give us straight stories. And I’m not 100% sure about Baier!

I started losing respect for Brit in 05, after loving his work since 2000.
By 2007 late, it was ALL GONE...and he’s only swirled lower since.
I do not respect anyone in major media, not since Cronkite betrayed his country and caused N. Vietnam to not surrender. They are all liars and facilitators pushing an agenda.
He did the same thing to Sarah, and I shut him out after that.
