See my post at #167. New York used to have a "marital exception" for rape, but that was eliminated in 1984, over 30 years ago. Trump's lawyer was admitted to practice in New York in 1992, eight years after the exception was overturned:

So yes, he should know what the law is and isn't. But his statement was wrong.
