Is this a great country or what! Free access for some folks to further hack and scam and lie, cheat and steal, paid for out of the o'bama stash. Well it is free right?

Does this include the rural areas? ...or just the inner cities?

In a very short time in this country, if you’re not going to be very rich, you’re better off being poor.

When the internet was newer a friend raised capital and started up an ISP. He was doing great until the city of Tallahassee decided that everybody should have free internet. The public free ISP ran him out of business.

I don’t know if it still exists as Comcast became an ISP and pretty much sewed up the market. I’d think that Comcast could not have grown their market if the city was still giving away free access.

Stupid me... I thought there was supposed to be a gazillion dollars in the recovery bill for this... I never saw a thing produced from that supposed benefit to rural communities.

And the recipients will be using the Internet to take online courses, keep informed of world events, stay connected with loved ones, right? they know how to type, read and write English and will use this to better themselves, right?
I hope so, because I’m paying for it.

I remember a few years back when my cable bill was increased $10 to pay for cable for poor people! Both Comcast and Time Warner who want to merge have increased their cable rates to pay for the merger and to buy off politicians.
