The local branch of a union of border patrol agents slated to host Donald Trump's visit to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday has pulled out of the event.
In a statement, National Border Patrol Council Local 2455 said: "After careful consideration of all the factors involved in this event and communicating with members of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) at the National level, it has been decided by Local 2455 to pull out of all events involving Donald Trump."
Trump's campaign says it will proceed with his visit in Laredo, Texas, as planned.

Who’ll will show them around? I wonder if they are just going to wing it? I can picture almost anyone with political ties pulling back, if it were Hillary or whomever visiting.
I would hope they would be! That border needs to be guarded by active, highly armed military!
That statement says nothing. What factors did they carefully consider and what conclusions caused them to change the plans? Who's really behind this decision?
I wonder if there are any precedents for such a decision. This needs to be questioned and investigated by some of he few objective journalists still around.

The union leadership was pressured by Obama and caved!!! Bad move on the union leadership’s part. Donald Trump has an advance team there....and Trump will turn this visit into a positive result, believe me, there are pleanty of Hispanic-Americans in Laredo, Texas that side with Trump on illegals, because Laredo suffers deeply from the negative impact of crime, murder and drugs as a result of the Illegal immigrant flow!!!
There is no effort, because there was no political will to enforce the law under the Bush administration and now Obama has effectively neutered the BPS from doing their sworn duty under the law. The border is effectively lawless, unless you are a bonafide American citizen- then you can expect to be detained and searched at whim without probable cause.
But . . . but . . . What about Rick Perry—The fearless governor of Texas who is insulting Donald Trump from a safe distance?

Yep, this could really blow up in the faces of whoever caused the plans to be changed and become a major news event that will help Trump.

Perry needed to revive himself after the stumbles during the 2012 campaign, but he's adopted about the dumbest strategy he could have come up with. All he's doing is trashing Trump and running one silly ad about how he secured the border when the Feds wouldn't do it.
