Moments after arriving at the Des Moines airport on Trump's private aircraft, Cohen was asked about Trump's $50,000 donation to former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's mayoral campaign in Chicago.
His answer: "Mr. Trump gives money to everybody."
"It's irrelevant as to whether or not it's Republican or Democrat," Cohen added. "He is an individual who looks to individuals and not the party. There are many business deals he does that that requires."
There's your answer. Rahm was going to be the mayor of Chicago. Trump owns real estate in Chicago, and knows you have to 'play the game'.
