Maria Konnikova is not someone Donald Trump would typically describe as a loser. Fluent in Russian and English, she writes authoritatively on psychology and culture. Her work has appeared in prestigious publications ranging from The Atlantic to Scientific American. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard, she received her Ph.D. in psychology from Columbia University.
Four years ago, Konnikova wrote a piece for a publication called Big Think, postulating that Trumps perpetual boorishness is attributable to mental illness, specifically a condition called narcissistic personality disorder.
History professor Jelani Cobb, writing in The New Yorker, focused on another facet of The Donalds persona. [I]n all the ways that matter, save actual performing, Donald Trump is not a politicianhes a rapper, Cobb postulated. If elected, hes less likely to represent George W. Bushs third term than Kanye Wests first one.
And what will you do if Trump wins the nomination and picks your candidate as VP?
Mexico, UN, CNN, Univision, NBC, Columbia, drug kingpins, Communist, D.C., and assorted American hating leftist academia very much agree with you.
You have some very interesting allies.
lol. It will be the first count by a landslide.
Agree completely which is why we have to make sure the GOP nominee is not ¡YEB!
(I like how you cover your screen name with your tag line.)
The danger to the Republicans, at this point, is that The Donald will pick up all his marbles and REALLY go rogue, forming a third party. Like 1992, and like the earlier example of H. Ross Perot, the Republican party will be seen as the target and the major casualty in this distance-and-direction urination contest, and The Donald has the wind at his back.
Oh, like Perot, he would lose, placing badly in third, but it would elevate whoever the Democrats would choose to offer up. And if it is Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, it would be almost a rematch of the 1992 race.
The Republicans could do far worse than trying to come to a peaceful settlement with The Donald long before this whole populist firestorm overtakes them, as this would cause a rout at the statehouse and local levels, and in both the House of Representatives and Senate, ending up with losing the Supreme Court for perhaps a half century or more.
The territory once known as “the United States of America” would pass into history much like the Roman Empire, but much more swiftly, and with a more lasting effect on centuries to come. “The West”, as a concept, will also be swept away, and it would be hard to imagine a more dystopian future in any future history, save the possibility we were invaded by a species from an alien planet.
Pray for the invasion by aliens, for that is the only thing that will bring all humanity back onto the same side. But then, we would have to WIN that confrontation, and that makes things much more dicey.
Did Trump serve in the Military?
I am a lifetime VFW member and my money goes to the vets.
What does the hotline do?
Blow smoke up yer arse?
Why don’t you check it out instead of assuming? I love Cruz but did he serve in the military? What conservative congress critter who served in the military has done anything for vets but complained about the VA?
That’s your smoke, not mine.
Amen!
Far to early.
LOl,,ok,,we’re good
Be careful...
You will feel the wrath of the Trump people on here.
I agree with you though
What kind of hat?
This is not a sign of some mental disorder. Its merely a sign of a person with extreme drive. And folks, in many instances its a sign of nothing more than being a very successful Capitalist.
Or a successful politician. Or showbiz celeb. That's all true.
But you could ask if the self-promotion is all for show or if it reflects something about the person's psychological make-up. And you also might ask if the businessman or star or politician takes self-promotion or self-involvement too far -- to the point where it becomes counterproductive or destructive.
When people say a politician is narcissistic, they may only mean that the person they're talking about is a typical politician -- somebody who gets ahead by promoting themselves in a business where they are themselves the product they're selling. But what if the self-promotion and the underlying psychological dynamic becomes so strong that it works against their stated goals?
Funny, if he really wanted to take out the RINO’s, why didn’t he target Romney in 2012? Has his conversion been that fast?
If he really had our interests in mind, why keep Leftists as your closest advisors?
I am curious as to why so many think Trump will pave the way for Cruz...unless he says something stupid, I see him running only for his ego.
Touche on Cruz’s military record.
“Using pejoratives to describe him is best left to the, well, left.”
Normally I would agree with you. I typically ask persons to focus on the “good” of their pick rather than trashing another’s.
However, I have to break with my own norms of decorum in regards to this personage. Trump is a dangerous and insidious evil. So, maybe “buffoon” is a strong enough pejorative?
He is misleading and making fools of otherwise sensible people here on FR. He mixing lies with truth so much one cannot keep it straight. Sounds like a description of the devil to me. I am certain that Trump is evil; a great deceiver leading many to their doom.
What makes you think aliens would be civil?
Dang ol Tractor Supply ball cap stained with sweat.
Yes because you and sola PRETEND you care about vets but can point to another candidate who is raising the issue and getting attention for vets.
You think anyone who counters what you say is “attacking” you. You apparently have a fragile ego.
Tough.
Sola is SILENT on the vet issue. Shocking.
Come on Sola,,where are you? You lay it down but you can’t take a challenge?
What. A. Shock.
