Looking back on the videos of Trump making that statement it appears that, before being interrupted by Frank Luntz, Trump was going to say something like "McCain was not a hero because of some heroic action, he was a hero because he got captured."

If that is the case, this is all a tempest in a tea pot.

But like the Rodney King video, we won’t get to see the whole video much where Trump calls McQueeg a hero four times. The sound bite serves the GOPe agenda much better.
