All that has to be done is declare the unborn as endangered species and watch the liberals come out

A legal question to anyone...

Based on the new definition of marriage, has a new mother lost all legal rights to restrict the adoption of her child just to heterosexual parents?

For instance, say the new mother works with a private religious based adoption agency.

Does the law allow her to discriminate between adoptive parents based on race, religion, and sexual orientation?

I am not presenting this as a fact, but as far as I know, birth mothers (assuming they still have legal custody, and the fathers are out of the picture) have the absolute legal right to choose adoptive parents for their children from the pool of willing adopters, without having to give a reason to anybody.

Or, the birth mothers can choose to place their child with an agency and let the agency make the call.

This is assuming the birth mother's rights have not been revoked for abuse, neglect or other criminal reasons.

At least, that's the way it used to be. Not at all sure it's that way any more.
