Not a big McCain fan but it’s not like he took a wrong turn or was sleeping while on patrol and got captured. He was flying missions over Vietnam and under fire. That’s how he got shot down and captured.

The hero designation is one which all servicemen deserve, as they are willing to risk their lives for their country.
Being captured by the enemy is the same in spirit as getting a leg blown off or getting killed....and I guess Trump,Al Franken , and some Freepers could say those who died for their country were not heroes, they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time
In short any fool willing to say McCaine or anyone who was a POW is not a hero is full of it ands its a very sad day to watch FR go down this path

And once he was shot down injured captured tortured ...he was allowed to come back to his home in the USA....and HE SAID NO. That is a HERO. And the rest of those men who were shot down and captured and tortured FOR YEARS...ARE HEROS.
The fact that he is weak on many important political points should be the target, not his getting shot at flying over North Vietnam at the same exact time Trump was partying in college.
And you can bet the dems are making a nice video about that.
