No fan of Juan here — but that is a really asinine thing to say.
You can be well aware of McCain’s liberalism, his abysmal record as a legislator, and his laughable Presidential candidacy while still respecting his service.
Not so over the line, read what the other pow soldiers had to say
IIRC, McAmnesty was a bit of a, to put it generously, a troubled pilot, and he had to bail on his damaged F-4. He was an unnecessary risk taker, and that’s what got him shot down in the first place.
McAmnesty has overplayed his war hero status and it’s time for the “maverick” to STFU and retire. He has been the source of much failure in the Republican coalition to hold the line.
I reference his reference to Sen. Cruz as a wacko-bird, and other sellouts of Republicans, and of the people as a whole.
Maybe, maybe not.
McCain has said himself that when he returned home from Hanoi he expected to be court martialed for his conduct while POW.
His erratic behavior could give the impression that he has been blackmailed on occasion and his POW history is a potential weakness.
Trump was a huge backer of McCain for President and you don't give people that kind of money without doing a serious vetting and due diligence on their past, so rest assured Trump knows about and has documented any skeletons in McCain's past history
Trump has been very good to the notoriously treacherous and back stabbing Senator and McCain has made public anti Trump comments that are irresponsible, unwarranted and which constitute a horrible betrayal of Trumps past generous and crucial support of McCain in McCain's Presidential and Senate campaigns as well as McCain controlled PACs.
Trump may well be very publicly putting McCain on public notice that his continued betrayal of a loyal past supporter's trust could result in the release of information very damaging both to McCains’s carefully crafted image as well as his chances for re election to the Senate in 2016.
Life without his position of power and influence and the media attention it brings would be hell on earth for McCain. He has fabulously rich wife so the lure of a high paying post Senate job as lobbyist hold no attraction to him.
The McCain of 2015 is all about being A Very Important Person on the world stage, and he is addicted to the power, perks and media attention it brings to him. If their is damaging information about McCains’ past that shred his carefully crafted public and self image as well as cost him his increasingly vulnerable Senate seat in 2016, then Trump is attacking McCain where he lives.
Sound far fetched?
Maybe so.
But if McCain shuts his big mouth and stops his war of insults about about Trump, then one could construe McCain's backing off as confirmation that there is serious black mail bait regarding McCain's POW past.
It would also tend to explain some of McCain's more erratic behavior as well as his conduct of his Presidential Campaign, including his hands off approach to Obama’s past and his refusal to criticize Obama, or any other Democrat for that matter.
McCains sure does play a dirty and nasty mud slinging hardball with any Republican challenger to his Senate seat which is in stark contrast to his love fest with Democrats which does give one pause to think in that direction.
My guess is that McCain is going to suddenly become very, very quiet on all things Trump now that Trump has hinted that he is willing to go there and publicly expose the skeleton's in the closet of McCain's past.
We shall see.
This should be interesting
If you read WHAT he said, he did not say that at all. This is totally made up!
Here is what he said:
I am not a fan of John McCain because he has done so little for our Veterans and he should know better than anybody what the Veterans need, especially in regards to the VA. He is yet another all talk, no action politician who spends too much time on television and not enough time doing his job and helping the Vets. He is also allowing our military to decrease substantially in size and strength, something which should never be allowed to happen.
Furthermore, he was extremely disrespectful to the thousands upon thousands of people, many of whom happen to be his constituents, that came to listen to me speak about illegal immigration in Phoenix last week by calling them “crazies”.
These were not “crazies”-—these were great American citizens.
I have great respect for all those who serve in our military including those that weren’t captured and are also heroes.
I want to strengthen our military and take care of our Veterans. I want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN especially for those that serve to protect our freedom. I am fighting for our Veterans!
When I listened to it in full context of what he was saying, it didn't seem all that bad to me. I have enough brain cells to understand what he was really saying.
He woud have been better to attack McCain’s record. And leave being a prisoner alone.
