Actually reasonably easy to repair I’d think.
Similar to a Nascar chassis.
Saw off the bent parts, weld on straight ones.
Replace body panels.

My Ex B-I-L had a really nice Cobra Kit car, Red with White stripes and Side Pipes. It was pretty slick.

Yep. The originals had an aluminum body.
I shopped a used one in 1967. The asking price was $7,500. A brand new small block 1967 Corvette Roadster was $3,900. Funny thing. What I didnt like about the Cobra was that the windows popped in rather than roll down. I got the Corvette.

Agreed, he cheaped out with a Chevy. Knew a guy building a replica with a big block Ford and he was having massive problems with heat in the cockpit. Dunno if he ever solved them.
