I try to avoid gun free zones. Bur recently I had to visit my sister in the hospital. There are big “gun free” signs. My theory is if I have to use it they’ll be grateful I did. And, if not and they sue me or I get prosecuted, at least I’ll be alive.
Studies show the average number killed by active shooters stopped by the police is eleven. The average when the shooter is stopped by an armed citizen is two killed.
Not surprising considering that the police are only minutes away when seconds count.
Same here with going to a St. George, UT clinic for the first time - and carrying. Big sign in the doorway - "No Firearms Allowed". I depended upon the concept of "Concealed" in CCW and took the wife in. Left a little while later and no one was wiser - or hurt. If discovered, I would have claimed Native American membership - the SoSueMe tribe - and left.
