The US Military has today ordered active duty military personnel to remove military insignia from their cars, houses, etc. It must be done by 1700 today.
I learned quite a bit in my operational security classes, things that I still practice to this day. It’s all about being the Grey man.
The OP has had two hours now.

If I understand the situation these orders were passed to a FReeper claiming to be in the active military. I seriously doubt the military posts links to orders.

If the orders were to get it done and keep your mouth shut then no it wouldn't be broadcast for all to see. If that is how it went down it will be awhile before it becomes news. Someone will talk eventually.
Right now there is too little info to judge one way or the other. But consider if everyone was told to keep their mouths shut then the OP might have done this on the sly and is not going to reply to keep from getting in trouble with his command. OR it could be a troll playing games and he won't talk either he just sits back and enjoys the drama.
Normally I would say it is a troll. But after the SCOTUS rulings and the Confederate Flag BS and the shootings of the Marines I figure just about anything could be in the works right now so I am keeping an open mind and channeling Reagan...

Maybe it was just a local directive, happened all the time when I was in the Marines. We had plenty, including what was “proper” civilian attire. I got written up one time for wearing a tank top. I guess I was supposed to stand out like a sore thumb at the beach wearing a long sleeve shirt. As Chesty Puller said. Take me to the brig. I want to see the “real Marines”
I had one discussion on here and one freeper said that H1B1’s were good for the country, recently he commented just the opposite and the person he was commenting to was for H1B1’s. Now that’s a pair need some optics.

I have three close friends in the active Military right now. One is visiting family this week and they live a few blocks up the street. I will be strolling up there later today to have a face to face chat. He is a Marine so I know he will have some thoughts on the matter.

This behavior is not only sickening, it is cowardly, and insane. Here we are with the most powerful military on the face of the earth and we will not use the tools we have to eradicate these vermin. Break out the big stuff and bomb these cockroaches into oblivion, level the hell holes of the earth that they hide in. Lets stop this pussy footing around like we do not have a solution to the problem. I am beyond fed up with this ridiculousness of standing around and waiting for another troglodyte to kill more Americans. Now the bastards are running around loose in our own backyards because we have deliberately let them in. Enough of this insanity.
Sounds fake to me. The “military” doesn’t make that kind of decision. It would come from the Secretary of Defense and be filtered down through the different branches of service. Most of the individual branches of service have their own rules about things like this. Some branches of service allow you to wear PT gear to the exchange or chow hall. In the Marine Corps, you’ll get your ass chewed and sent back to change clothes.
I can see this happening eventually because most bases have gotten away from the windshield stickers of old, and are strictly looking at the common access card.
