It has never been a religion of peace. That is one of the most outrageous lies ever told.
Islam has not been compatible with any civilization since its inception. There would be no Western civilization if not for men like Charle Martel (battle of Tours 732) and Jan Sobieski (siege of Vienna 1683).
Not to mention what they did as they spread into India.
