I heard that the Waco PD did it
We have no proof who said anything. How do you know who is behind a computer screen on an untraceable network?
We have no clue who is running the show on the ground, who these people really are and what money is changing hands.
All can be fabricated. All can be theatre.
Most important thing is to stop listening to the f’n showmen and just stop killing each other. It’s ALWAYS a lie
You are talking about stuff coming directly from the Russians, including their official media. You are not familiar with the things I have been referencing.
Stop with your xenopatriotic bullshit. Russian State TV Channel 1 is not somebody untraceable behind computer screen. RussiaToday network is not untraceable. You are purposely trying to muddy the water here, because I guess you think this is what good Russians must do.
“It is expected that insurgents and terrorists do not own high-altitude SAM systems.”
3 days before MH17, a military cargo plane was shot down in this warzone at 21,000 feet.
That is FAR above the range of hand held AA missiles.
Only one day before MH17 a second military plane was shot down.
It would have been common sense to simply divert traffic around the warzone, a small percent of Ukraine.
It would have cost only a few minutes fuel.
Instead Ukraine and civil aviation simply raised the minimum flight altitude in the area.
All USA airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Asiana, Qantas and many others avoided the warzone by policy.
Pilots complained about the danger of the overflights to both civil aviation and the airlines themselves. Some traded shifts to avoid the flights specifically out of this concern:
There’s also gross misinformation out there that claims huge numbers of planes flew the exact same path as MH17.
The way this claim works is by defining all overflights of Ukraine as “the same path”.
But Ukraine is the biggest country fully within Europe and the warzone was a tiny percent of Ukraine. The overwhelming majority of flights taking this route did not come close to overflying the warzone itself as MH17 did.
TexasGator just wrote in post 18 that The American Federal Aviation Administration did not restrict that region. These around 900 overflights by various airlines during the past 7 days were not for 603,628 km² Ukraine, but for 140km radius around Donetsk (1,500 km²).
Video, more photos, transcript at source: Never-before-seen footage reveals Russian-backed rebels arriving at the wreckage of MH17
May justice be done.
If you want to be on this right wing, monarchy, paleolibertarianism and nationalism ping list, but are not, please let me know. If you are on it and want to be off, also let me know. This ping list is not used for Catholic-Protestant debates.
“TexasGator just wrote in post 18 that The American Federal Aviation Administration did not restrict that region. “
How is that significant when
1) In nearly all cases the FAA just runs with whatever the foreign country civil aviation officials decide for their own territory.
2) ALL USA airlines already avoided Ukraine overflights by policy before MH17.
The interesting question is why didn’t they divert flights away from the warzone after a big military cargo plane was shot down at 21,000 feet 3 days before MH17?
The answer might be money:
“Economically beleaguered Ukraine earns an estimated $200 million a year simply by allowing foreign aircraft to cross its airspace enroute to other destinations.”
“After Malaysia Air Flight 17 apparently was shot down over Ukraine, some critics questioned whether the Kiev government allowed dangerous airspace to remain open so that it could continue to collect overflight fees. “
“But a high-ranking official with the international aviation group, who asked that he and his organization not be identified because they were making available closely-held data, said Ukraine likely was under pressure from airlines to keep its skies open to overflights. The route taken by MH17 is popular for flights from European capitals to major cities in Asia.
“It’s a complicated issue,” the official said. “It’s not just Ukraine that has an interest, it’s every airline that flies there. They don’t want to have to fly around [Ukraine].” Taking a less direct route would require burning more fuel, the number one expense for airlines.”
Seems strange to me that so many here reject the obvious and seem to be Putin protectors?
This is a conservative, pro-America, site. Right?
/sarcasm.
FAA has little standing with foreign carriers and foreign, non-contiguous to US airspace.
Foreign carriers should have listened, though.
“FAA has little standing with foreign carriers and foreign, non-contiguous to US airspace.”
The FAA issues formal warnings to the international carriers. I believe that these have more than a little standing with those carriers.
The video is no longer available.
Yes but where did their data and information come from and how many people handled it? There are spies and infiltrators everywhere from so many different places with so many agendas.
I have no allegiance with Russia and renounced all ties with that God forsaken government the first moment I could. My family is Ukrainian and living in these war zones now.
It is obvious we are not seeing the entire picture there.
And it is obvious our own government is at least partially hijacked.
Same ole Soviet Union. Shooting down unarmed civilian airlines. Remember the jet over the Pacific. Was it flight 007 or something like that. Korean or Japanese. Cannot remember at such an early hour.
Still works for me. Maybe the server got overwhelmed for a while?
Perhaps, while your naming commercial airliner shoot downs, you'll recall KAL 007. That aside, one of the first claims rebels put out there was a Ukrainian SU-25 actually shot MH17 down. Completely impossible, since the Frogfoot lacks the speed and altitude to overtake a 777. Additionally, that type aircraft had also been previously engaged and shot down is the days prior.
In the video, the Ukrainian rebels at the site refer to paratroopers jumping from the plane. I’ve not heard this in any accounts in the news media.
Probably just mistaking falling cargo pieces or debris for parachutes. 777 is a big plane and there is bound to be slow falling things.
