And yet today millions of conservatives are swooning for The Donald, nothing less than the anti-Reagan. They ignore Trumps surly, intolerant suggestions that illegal immigrants are largely rapists and other types of miscreants. They tolerate his meanness, boastfulness and vengefulness against those who have crossed him. And they believe his fantastical claims, like that he can build walls atop the Mexican border and make Mexicans pay for it.
And yet I am here to tell you that despite what youve read in the media, even some outposts of the conservative media, these Trump acolytes in general are not racist against Latinos and they have not been seized by madness.
They are, however, angry. Very angry. And many are agonizingly fearful about the future of the nation. They believe that vast changes to the country are being wrought in ways that are undemocratic, dishonest and perhaps even illegal.
Trump, who seems perpetually angry, is an expression of the angst of conservatives who believe the United States has gotten so deep into a mess that a little extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. What they adore about Trump is that he is a pugilist who has emerged at a time when someone needs to start throwing punches.
His blunt promise to stop illegal immigration touches on perhaps the conservatives deepest concern of all: that their culture and the Constitutional order are disintegrating with such rapidity that they hardly recognize the country they are living in. There is a sense of desperation that is fueling support for a proven achiever and fearless confrontationalist like Trump.

Obama creates NOTHING. He only destoys.
That said, I am still first and foremost at Cruz backer.
“They tolerate his meanness, boastfulness and vengefulness against those who have crossed him.”
are they talking about trump or obama?
Well, Obama has created a vacuum of leadership into which a real leader can step.
It's much more than a concern, it's a conclusion based on experiencing "that their culture and the Constitutional order are disintegrating with such rapidity that they hardly recognize the country they are living in."
In one of Trump's books, he says "I never forget...if you cross me, you will have to watch your back forever." (I paraphrase).
It isn't exactly a Christian sentiment, but perhaps we don't need a preacher at the helm.
Let's have a petulant child with his finger on the button. If somebody's going to make a Nixonian and enemies list, comb FBI files like Clinton, and pull Obamaesque maneuvers with the IRS, let's make sure he's our guy, right?
Perhaps he'll go rogue and form the Lowest Common Denominator Party.
That's what we've had for the last 6-7 years.
How's that working out for ya.
Trump's a big talker, but he listens to his advisers.
Which was exactly my point.
LOL, they are trying their best everywhere on the Left to get you to hate Trump , ROFL
When we have a nation of people sitting in pews (in real churches, I might add) then a preacher will be fine. Luke 23:26 for now.
Good one!!!!!
He doesn’t seem paranoid. Just writes you off if you mess with him. Nothing wrong with that.
