You know the 2 cops that were assassinated last December in New York city by the psycho who was encouraged by DeBlasio? I believe the families of those cops got a few hundred thousand solely by donations. How much did DeBlasio award them especially since he encouraged their deaths? ZERO.
...
I think Obama was an instigator in that, too.
I figure Al and the “lawyers” take half.
The autopsy cites a chokehold as a contributing cause of death. Forgive me if I’ll take the word of New York City’s own coroner on this detail. He saw the body.
But then,Reverend Al's daughter is suing NYC for $5 million for a sprained ankle so maybe I'm behind the times.
Unfortunately, you take your victim as you find them. Always try to find a healthy victim! (Good luck)
Perhaps he was "convinced" to add chokehold as a contributing factor.
Remember who he works for.
Members of the New York City Police Department will NOT use chokeholds. A chokehold shall include, but is not limited to, any pressure to the throat or windpipe, which may prevent or hinder breathing or reduce intake of air.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that “lost earning potential” was not the basis for that settlement amount.
He was a heart attack waiting to happen. The hold was not a chokehold; you can not say “I can’t breathe” while in a chokehold (you can’t say anything). Had he calmly submitted to the appropriate arrest, he might still be alive today, if his heart didn’t give out by now.
No, he didn’t deserve to die, but no, his family does not deserve that kind of settlement either.
In the video he’s saying “I can’t breathe” after the chokehold.
And I agree he was in bad shape and I deeply appreciate that you’re not one of those ghouls who would make someone’s physical condition a virtual license-to-kill for law enforcement.
How many “loosies” would he have had to sell, lifetime (probably only a couple of more years at best) to earn that much? < /rhetoric >
LOL

...
Does it? Do you have a reference? Because the coroner didn’t find a crushed windpipe or a broken hyoid bone. And the video shows it wasn’t a choke hold for those who know what one is.

According to that definition it wasn’t a choke hold.
Well, now that you mention it, at NYC cigarette prices...5 cartons’ worth? :-)

Second sentence in, with source noted:
“The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office attributed Garner’s death to a combination of a chokehold, compression of his chest, and poor health.”
I don’t know what video you are watching, but it most certainly was a chokehold, under the NYPD definition.
If you go further down, you’ll see that “choke hold” is in parentheses. In other words, it’s an editorial comment. The ME said compression of the neck, yet didn’t find damage to the windpipe or damage to the hyoid bone, which would be evidence of a choke. Regardless, it wasn’t a choke hold. After Garner pushed the officer into a large window which almost broke, his arm did get up close to Garner’s neck. That wasn’t an intentional move, but defensive. It may have left some bruising, but it didn’t leave any damage consistent with a choke.
Excerpt I’m referencing:
Medical examiners concluded that Garner was killed by “compression of neck (choke hold), compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police”,.[14][15][16] No damage to Garner’s windpipe or neck bones was found.[17]
Look at the video closely and carefully. One arm goes under Garner’s arm. The other arm goes across the top of Garner’s chest with the palm of the hand facing outward so he doesn’t choke him. It’s clearly a take down move taught at the police academy, not a choke hold.
