Iran and six world powers reached a nuclear deal on Tuesday, capping more than a decade of negotiations with an agreement that could transform the Middle East, and which Israel called an "historic surrender".

Under the deal, sanctions imposed by the US, European Union and the UN would be lifted in return for Iran agreeing [sic] to long-term curbs on a nuclear programme that the West has suspected was aimed at creating a nuclear bomb. ...

The EU has also imposed sanctions prohibiting trade with Iran's oil sector. This includes any business with any part of Iran's energy sector or government agencies related to it and any investments in that industry.

The skinny is that the European Union was represented by France, Germany and Great Britain at the EU-3/3+1 talks in Vienna. Russia, China, the U.S. and Iran made up the 3+1. With these 3 EU super-members agreeing to this deal, the European Union is now given the green light to do business with Iran. Russia was going to go full bore in trading with Iran even if the talks failed and there was no deal.

This will all now go to a vote in the United nations Security Council and it undoubtedly will pass, which means that countries not in the EU will have the green light to do business with Iran and not be thought of negatively by the world community if it had done so if the talks failed and there was no deal reached.

Obama will veto any bill from Congress that goes against this deal.

IOW, it's over.

As is usual with O and his toadies in the press (and in the GOP)... what they say is precisely the reverse of the truth.

This agreement shelters Iran’s nuclear program and prevents anyone from stopping it.

And instead of the constitutional requirement that 2/3 of the senate uphold it, they have changed it to require a 2/3 vote to override it. Which means its a done deal. And GOP was in on the fix.

A better word to have used would have been “won’t” stop the EU from now doing business with Iran.

This is now headed to the UN Security Council and it seems that will be pretty much the end of things.

I imagine that Obama will still go before the UN to get a symbolic vote from the entire UN body, especially if Congress votes no on this deal with Iran.

especially if Congress votes no on this deal with Iran.

This deal was pre-rigged to pass, under no circumstances will it not go forward and the GOP is responsible for it. I doubt even Trump will chomp on this bone.
