Santorum was an elected republican in the House and Senate. Trump was only even registered for as a Republican for less than two years. He had no connection to the party.

Trump wasn’t a career politician. He was a businessman building a nice capitalistic empire, not dealing in the political world. He was a doer, not a talker. And he employed thousands of people over his career.
You’re funny. I’m sure you are well aware that on any given day there are multiple threats and expressed desires by various Freepers to change parties from Pub to some 3rd Party, or to start yet another new Party. Seems a fair amount of Freepers for one reason or another are willing to, or already have changed parties. They seem to have no qualms in doing so and leaving the Pubs. I’m mighty glad Ronald Reagan decided to change parties and become a Pub, and that Trump came back into the fold to become our champion. Good.
