I blame the feminists. They say "Men need to be taught not to rape", instead of women learning how to avoid being victimized. A young woman, alone, at 1 am, in a deserted parking garage, is just being stupid.

As a young woman I was a registered nurse in an inner city Philadelphia hospital. Every work day I was in an inner city parking garage at midnight.

1 AM is really not that late in NYC. Although the PA has always been a scary place.

The Port Authority is a bus transportation hub. It’s possible she was just returning to NYC from a vacation or business trip. It’s even possible her bus was late.

OR she could work in the vicinity. The NYT is just across the street. She could be a waitress at a nearby restaurant where folks dine after seeing a Broadway show. It’s the Times Square area of NYC. Lots and lots of reasons to be out and getting your car at 1am in the “City that Never Sleeps.”
