Publisher HarperCollins and Ted Cruzs presidential campaign pushed back at the New York Times for claiming that sales of the GOP candidates new biography were enhanced by strategic bulk purchases.
In a statement to BuzzFeed News Friday, HarperCollins publicity director Tina Andreadis alleged that the publishing company conducted an investigation into sales of A Time For Truth and found no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization.
Politico first reported Thursday that the Times had blocked Cruzs book from its upcoming bestsellers list even as sales of hard cover copies of the biography reached 11,854 during its first week on shelves.
Cruzs sales beat all titles save two on the forthcoming Times list.
When questioned about the decision, Times spokeswoman Eileen Murphy explained, We have uniform standards that we apply to our best seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold. This book didnt meet that standard this week.
She later clarified that there was an overwhelming preponderance of evidence that sales of Cruzs biography were limited to strategic bulk purchases.
However, HarperCollins disputed the Times claim, emphasizing that Cruzs book currently sits on bestsellers lists compiled by Nielsen Bookscan, Barnes and Noble and the Wall Street Journal, all of which exclude bulk sales when they conduct their rankings.
The Cruz campaign also fired back at the Times Friday in a press release, accusing the publication of spreading false information about the GOP presidential candidates book sales.
The Times is presumably embarrassed by having their obvious partisan bias called out. But their response — alleging strategic bulk purchases — is a blatant falsehood, Cruz campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said in a statement. The evidence is directly to the contrary. In leveling this false charge, the Times has tried to impugn the integrity of Senator Cruz and of his publisher Harper Collins.
We call on the Times, release your so-called evidence, Tyler continued. Demonstrate that your charge isnt simply a naked fabrication, designed to cover up your own partisan agenda. And, if you cannot do so, then issue a public apology to Senator Cruz and Harper Collins editor Adam Bellow for making false charges against them.
The Times spokesman told Politico Friday that the publication is sticking to its original statement.

It is becoming clear that there are no honest rankings. The Slimes is judging Politically,Exactly. That's how they've earned their nickname: The Slimes.
I dig the title of Cruz' book: "A Time for Truth." Hoping The Slimes for a change does the right thing and puts the book on their Bestsellers List. Then you can get it for 30% off at Barnes & Noble (if you can find it in the store (LOL)).

But does it make any difference? While Ted Cruz is fighting the New York Times, Donald Trump is fighting illegal immigration by making it a major issue that must be addressed. While illegal immigrants are murdering and raping Americans and overwhelming Americas social-service resources, the New York Times is simply lying as usual.
If Donald Trump is the only Republican presidential candidate willing to stand up for Americans against a major problem the growing danger of illegal immigration what do we need other candidates for?
Need to get your facts straight.
1. Cruz has been fighting the Illegal Immigration issue LONG before Donald Trump started his campaign, and Cruz is currently out there fighting right along side Trump.
2. While "The Donald" is fighting one issue, Illegal Imigration, Cruz has been fighting for all of these issues.
3. Cruz is also fighting for the Social Issues, against Abortion and Gay Marriage. Trump is not fighting against Gay Marriage and is very, VERY weak on Abortion (he supports Rape, Incest, Life of the Mother, and apparently, general abortions up to a certain age).

I wish Trump would buy them and put them out of their misery and ours.

Yes, Trump has sucked up all of the attention, leaving the others to scramble to catch up or say me-too. Even Cruz is playing this game. If Cruz and others cannot step up with more tha criticism or me-too, they should drop out. This includes Cruz who needs to get past his ‘I will share my view on illegal aliens in the U.S. Until after the border is secure’ nonsense. Give us a straight answer now or step aside. Besides, I want to hear him explain his call for increasing H1B by 500%. More correctly, I want to hear him renounce this in favor of American workers.

If there is no clear and convincing evidence of the charge, Sen. Cruz should demand an apology. What's next, the fluffy pillow?

Here is Trump's real position on those here illegally:
Undocumented Workers Can Stay ... BUT ONLY IF THEY WORK HARD
Here are Senator Cruz's already stated positions on Border and Illegal Immigration issues from NumbersUSA:
1. Oppose Amnesty - OPPOSE offering the officially estimated 11 million people illegally in the U.S. long-term work permits and/or a path to citizenship (whether through a blanket amnesty or an "earned legalization" or other form)
2. Attrition through Enforcement - fund an Attrition Through Enforcement campaign to cause illegal aliens to self-repatriate back to their home countries over time
3. Mandate E-Verify - jobs held by illegal aliens be opened up for unemployed Americans and legal immigrants already here by requiring all businesses to use the Federal automated, rapid-response internet system (E-Verify) to screen out illegal foreign workers
4. Assist Local Police - federal government be required to cooperate with local officials and pick up all illegal aliens detained by local law enforcement
5. Defund Sanctuary Cities - reduce funding to state and local governments that adopt sanctuary policies and other rewards for illegal foreign workers and the companies that hire them
6. Fund Entry/Exit System - fully fund the completion of the entry/exit system at all borders and points of entry in which every person entering and leaving the U.S. is logged into a database which would notify law enforcement, businesses and others when a foreign tourist, student, worker or other fails to leave on-time? *(US-VISIT was approved by Congress in 1996 and has never been sufficiently funded and is largely incomplete.)
7. Border Security - fund and provide oversight for the full implementation of border security measures already signed into law
8. End Birthright Citizenship - move the U.S. in line with most other nations and stop the policy of giving automatic citizenship at birth to children when both parents are illegal aliens?
9. End Chain Migration - implement the bi-partisan, national Jordan Commission recommendation to limit family-based immigration to the nuclear family of spouse and minor children, thus eliminating the "chain migration" categories of extended family that are the key reason immigration has quadrupled since the 1960s
10. End Visa Lotteries - institute safeguards that will prevent importation of foreign workers any time they would threaten the jobs or depress the wages of American workers
11. Reduce Total Immigration - Until 1976, U.S. immigration tradition was an average of around 250,000 a year; since new legislation in 1990, it has averaged 1,000,000 a year. More than 38 million foreign workers and dependents now live in the U.S. At current rates, immigration will add more than 100 million additional people to the U.S. population by 2060. This government-forced rapid population expansion will require huge increases in energy, roads and other infrastructure and services.

Very good points.
And I support a secure border. It is an issue with more elements than just illegal immigration. And Sen. Cruz has been fighting for secure borders and the whole range of Conservative issues.
If the Mainstream Republicans had any courage or dignity, they would throw both Sen. Cruz and Mr. Trump out of the party.

One would like to think this will provide the final nail in the Old Gray Whore’s coffin. It’s left bias editorially and in terms of the stories/articles it publishes is long known, but their “Best Seller” list one would have thought was more objective and actually based on being a best seller.

We have uniform standards that we apply to our best seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold. This book didnt meet that standard this week. George Orwell would be proud of that statement. Some best sellers are more best than others.

Read the details. They and others give him a pass because he says he will answer later. Show me ANYWHERE where Cruz says in his own words that he will not give work permits or any form of legalization to illegal aliens. I keep watching closely and there is none. He offers non-answers. Anything short of deporting illegal aliens is amnesty and Cruz is working hard to avoid being tossed in with Bush, Rubio, and others. And about H1B, do you deny he says increase by 500% and has never clarified or renounced this anti-American, pro-Chamber of Commerce position?

ARE YOU SAYING THAT CRUZ IS NOT TALKING ABOUT THINGS THAT PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT???????????
Now, that you have explained your cryptic comments, I know where your loyalties lie. My advice: vote for Trump, innocent.

My further advice: Read Washington Post’s Philip Bump’s article.
