look up “Maunder Minimum” - I think ‘yer off a few hundreds of years
I’ll be 75. Don’t think I’m going to make it. Carry on without me.
I’m in Chicago and I haven’t even put my AC in the window yet. I was tempted one or two days, but then it cooled off so I didn’t bother. Doing just fine with a window fan and ceiling fan so far.
August is the real killer month around here usually, so I doubt I’ll last the whole summer without AC, but it has been unusually mild this year.
The AGW morons and hucksters will tell us that the cooling is caused by warming an CO2 and other lies in an attempt to shut technology, progress, and freedom off.
...for everyone but the select elites
Interesting. Thanks for posting the info.
Gorebull warming, my frozen tailbone.
C'mon the sun is 93 million miles away! How much affect on our global temperature can it really have - compared to coal plants & SUVs?
/lib
I would think only on the margins...it may not even record much of a change, assuming the numbers of 60% are correct, which I don't see as likely..
There is a lot of difference between what they termed as “solar activity” as the measured amount of solar radiation or what we call light.
The activity they refer to can be summed up as sun spots and CME’s..which don’t really add up to better solar panel output, or worse.
I grew up in the United States. My kids will get to live in some sort of Gay Siberia.
“Great timing. Ill bet theres nothing better than retiring to a ski resort in Florida.”
One minor issue may be that the only “hills” in most of Florida with any angle of slope are usually called “Mount Trashmore” by the local residents.
Add with a maximum elevation of a few hundred feet, “Ski Florida’s Mount Trashmore Ski Resorts” may be less than successful.
YMMV.
;-)
OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the suns planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
I think at least two things would negatively affect solar power; more cloudy days, due to the colder climate, and freezing precipitation adhering to the panels. Not to mention, damage from high winds, due to more storms.
These same factors would negatively affect wind-power, as well.
I know, raise taxes and destroy civilization.
Glad I saved my heavy wool sweaters from the 60’s, including my Varsity one. Now my whole family will be warm during the next mini-Ice Age, and in style.
Should we invest in Ice Hockey futures? If we get in early, we should be able to clean up in the next couple of decades.
A better investment than Greek Drachmas, eh?
I wonder how much we could get, in the future, for heavy pure wool sweaters on Ebay or in the underground economy?
“Wish I were a rich man, yada, yada, yada, di”!
Someone tell the Popester, quick...before he shoves the world under the energy usage and taxation control of the UN. That, by the way, puts the UN in charge of the means of production - energy usage control/regulation and taxation.
Can’t wait to see the reaction to this study from the usual suspects. Get the popcorn!
I’ve got 2 SUVs, do I need to get a third?
