There is a complex web of designated routes and intersections ICAO uses to supervise and direct air traffic. The routes and intersections have unique designator, 2 to 5 letter codes, so pilots and ATC controllers can refer to them.

What surprises me is the discovery that there are Liberals bright enough to accomplish the relatively complex task of flying an aircraft.

Codes?

Air traffic intersections. Commercial planes fly routes between these waypoints.
These points are given names and pilots check in when reaching the waypoint .
May be names ie. , Lulu, Oscar, Dig, Creo, etc.
