If we must have an H1-B program (and we must, there really are exceptional individuals with exceptional talents who weren't born here), then employers should be willing to pay a premium for this company saving talent.
We do, they're not cheaper.

No US company works that hard, buys so much advertizing, lobbies and bribes so many politicians TO ACTUALLY PAY WORKERS MORE MONEY!
Sure, the guys in green eye-shades can juggle the numbers to make it LOOK like its more expensive, but I assure you no businessman goes through that much effort to spend more.
