Michelle Obama has given a touch-up to the White House State Dining Room, the latest interior design change that will endure long after she leaves the building at a cost of $595,000. Her modest changes to the room where many dinners and other events are held follow this year´s more dramatic remake of the Old Family Dining Room and the unveiling of the Obama china service. The change, which has been years in the making, comes just months after head florist Laura Dowling quit her post and was escorted from the building by security. The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Let me guess, avocado green shag rugs, mocha brown window treatments and orange beanbag chairs.
And an original velour of the One
My, she is modest with only a year and a half left to put up with such squalor.....
At least she’s spending her own money- wait, what?
Are we sure they’re leaving?
I would not be at all surprised if The One declared himself to be president for life ...
I’m guessing a couple of grand for a wide angle bidet.
Not to defend the first wookie, but haven’t most first ladies (in her case, I use that term lady loosely) done the same thing?
Hopefully with a fire hose nozzle
I like Hillary’s better in pretty much every way, shape and form. It was quite beautiful. Michelle’s is so-so. I HATE her table and chairs. Who wants to lean on those nails? Everything she changed was better before.
Most of all I HATE the Old Family Dining room. Gag! What did it look like before, cuz it is major ugly now.
The article said it was last redone by Hillary in 1998. Go see the before picture. It was stunningly beautiful (in spite of Hillary). It went from gorgeous to so-so. Hate the new table and chairs. Hillary’s table and chairs were better, though not wonderful. But the rest of the room by Hillary was awesome, imo.
Nancy Reagan used private donations
maybe or just create enough global crises that he convinces the electoral college to elect him he only needs 270
I like the state dining room better now but I don’t like the texture portion of the drapes.
The old family dining room is ugly, I don’t like that.
Well, she didn’t care much for the place to start with what with the stupid flag ceremonies and whatnot but adoration of the peasantry does grow on one....
That should make an emasculated male mad. It wants to be called a woman, but it knows what it is.............
What is that hideous yellow thing she is wearing, and what's wrong w her teeth?
You like it better? Can you imagine spending any time on those chairs? Ouch! I thought the previous room was beautiful overall. I like floral — loved the rug and curtains.
The old family dining room is ghastly.
I think it looks good - I like it better than than Hillary’s. I’m surprised that old white guy’s picture is still hanging on the wall. I thought this room was going to be a disaster like their family dining room is.
The $600,000 price tag is nuts though. I’m all for the White House looking nice - but $600,000 for a rug, drapes and a table set? It’s not like they were knocking down walls and stuff.
