It’s about 20 miles+ north of Charleston. I could see where a quick glance at a map could be read as 11 miles but that would be from North Charleston.

Shaw AFB is home to the Air Force's largest combat F-16 wing, according to the base's website, which says its "mission is to provide combat-ready airpower and combat-ready Airmen to meet any challenge, anytime, anywhere." It does say any challenge.

Years ago I took my two young sons to an airshow in London Ontario. They used to have the best ground displays. After the airshow we were flying back to Burlington On. We were about 2500 ft. I saw something in the corner of my left eye (Cessna 182). It was a Canadian Forces F5 (T-38 talon) forming up. I turned told the son in the back to look then the other son said ‘there's one on my side too’. They were headed back to Downsview. We all got to do a thumbs up. Then they waggle and departed at the same altitude. They were soon out of sight.

This the area?

Well, sort of. In the late 1970’s I would take off from McEntire ANGB. The whole state was local flying area so no flight plan necessary. I would fly either to Hunter AAF or Charleston Muni or Myrtle Beach FBO, refuel, then fly along the SC coast. The route in any case was a large triangle headed back to McEntire.
This to maintain minimums. I took photos, landed on wet beach to collect seashells, chased wild hogs in the salt marshes, & even landed at a seafood processing dock to go in & buy shrimp (OK if for personal use only). ATC knew where I was at all times.

My mistake, meant to ask(in general)if this was a VFR chart for the area of this accident(for airspace/other ref. purposes).
To: RckyRaCoCo
IIRC, this is a South Carolina aeronautical chart for VFR use only.
FAA Sectional Charts or DOD FLIP are suitable for IFR flight planning. And that’s pretty old fashioned, I don’t know anything about current digital aids to navigation, GPS, etc.
That was 35 years ago for me.

Thinking about it, in this Mid Air Collision it is a Miracle that the F-16 Pilot survived unless he punched out right before the Collision or it was a glancing blow that gave him enough time. The F15 was flyable even after the loss of a wing in a mid-air collision.

Maybe it had a confederate flag.

Yep, an Israeli Pilot. I think I read he had no idea of the extent of the Damage until he Landed.
Instead of investing Billions of Dollars in the failed F-35, our Idiotic Government should buy Hundreds of the F-15 Silent Eagles. Time to get us back in the game.
They should also increase the numbers of F-22’s and make sure the A-10 is kept in Service or Cloned. Rant off. LOL

I also read somewhere, maybe here, that the damaged F-15 was repaired and put back in service.
Amazing Aircraft, even decades since it was introduced.
