"Even after repeated attempts by President Obama and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to reform our immigration laws, Republicans in Congress have blocked those efforts, unfortunately, leaving cities and local municipalities to act upon immigration issues that affect its residents. I will continue to work with the Obama Administration on Comprehensive Immigration Reform to ensure cities arent forced to make and enforce immigration law."

Under 8 USC § 1324 - Bringing in and harboring certain aliens, a section of law that is comprehended within the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), it is a felony to harbor, shield from detection, transport, aid, abet, encourage or induce aliens to enter our country illegally or remain in our country illegally thereafter.
I don’t realistically expect arrest warrants to be issued for the Mayor, Sheriff and City Council for keeping in place a sanctuary policy that attracted the latest killer to that city -— that would be enforcing the law.
However, sanctuary cities and states that issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens should have their federal subsidies for law enforcement and other vital programs cut drastically, if not eliminated altogether.
Real sheriff’s, that care about their community, loved being able to call ICE or Border Patrol. With the revolving doors of justice it was an easy way to at least affect a temporary removal of a scumbag from your town. Even if it was to protect his own wife and kids. Then if the guy shows up again you bag him, call ICE, and they would deport them again. Towns have to put up with local scumbags coming in and out of the system. They shouldn’t have to deal with other countries’ scumbags.
These leftist and their president all share the same visceral hatred of the American.
Surprised he could write a statement with all of that blood on his hands.
Total nonsense....when a few states tried to STRENGTHEN immigration laws, the Obama admin came out strongly against them but when Kalifornia decides to ignore them, it is perfectly all right.
