Mitt Romney isn’t running for President, but that isn’t stopping him from commenting about the people who are, especially one guy named Donald Trump:
Mitt Romney said Saturday that Donald Trump’s comments on Mexico and undocumented immigrants have hurt the Republican Party, making the 2012 presidential nominee the latest Republican to slam the billionaire over his controversial remarks.
Romney made his remarks during a Fourth of July parade in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, which was also attended by presidential candidates New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
Asked if Trump’s comments on Mexicans have hurt the Republican Party, Romney replied, “Yes.”
“I think he made a severe error in saying what he did about Mexican-Americans,” Romney said.
And when he was asked if Republican candidates should be speaking out about Trump’s comments, Romney said, “I think a number of them have.”
He was referring to the handful of 2016 Republican hopefuls, most notably former New York Gov. George Pataki, who have slammed Trump over his remarks, in which he referred to some Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “killers.”
Pataki isn’t alone in criticizing Trump anymore, though. Just in the past several days Jeb Bush has called Trump’s remarks “extraordinarily ugly,” Marco Rubio has called then “offensive” and “divisive,” former Texas Governor Rick Perry said he was offended by Trump’s remarks and that Trump does not represent the Republican Party, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has also joined in the criticism of Trump’s remarks. So far, in fact, the only Republican candidate who has had anything positive to say about Trump is Ted Cruz:

I think it’s a mistake to celebrate trump shooting his notorious mouth off. every time he does it, the MSM gleefully focuses on him instead of any of our sane candidates’ messaging. including, it must be mentioned, ted cruz, who was actually beginning to punch through the static before the dumb4$$ with the hair started dominating the news cycle.
Cruz/Trump That’s a ticket I would like to see. Cruz can hire John Bolton for State, sarah Palin for Sec. of interior.
NO one is talking about Rubio’s deciding vote on the trade deal... one that paid him $3.9 million, along with Mcconnell and Boehner getting even more than that.
Maybe that’s why Rubio’s poll numbers are dropping. along with attacking Trump. There are a lot of Conservatives who support Trumps effort to speak up on things the weak kneed have been afraid to say.
A serious question for you; Does Trump look like a guy who settles for second place?

Cruz looks more like a prince in this pond of frogs as every day goes by.......
In Krispy Kreme's interview with the lovely Shannon Bream, he rejected Cruz's proposal and instead proposed that we give the President the power to re-appoint each justice after 7 years. This would, of course, guarantee EVERY justice would eventually be a liberal. This proposal in and of itself should disqualify Krispy Kreme from consideration.
He may be this time but I don’t underestimate the idiocy of the ‘conservative’ voter anymore. Every time someone shows them a shiny object or sings the right note, many suffer selective amnesia and the dive headlong back into the flock. We have all see that repeat time and time again.
Remember how you couldn’t find a Trump supporter within miles of FR after he turned the birth certificate thing into a circus? Many of the people now singing his praises were railing him. Yet look at them all bleating and sniffing behind him today. Same thing with Rubio. Some people never learn and thrive on supplicating themselves.
I love Trump, I’m still voting for Cruz, no doubt, but Trump is taking out the field. He destroyed Rubio’s campaign with a single tweet, he put Bush on notice and knocked him into second place, and his tactics are only starting against the RINOs. Cruz is playing it smart by being authentically conservative and not attacking his fellow rivals in the same brash way that Trump is. But, Trump is clearing the field right now and I’m loving it!
Wow! I didn’t know about Krispy Kreme’s proposal. I agree, it just further exposes him as a liberal.
I love what Cruz said:
“I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need to address illegal immigration,” the Texas senator said on NBC’s Meet the Press in an interview that aired Sunday. “The Washington cartel doesn’t want to address that. The Washington cartel doesn’t believe we need to secure the borders. The Washington cartel supports amnesty and I think amnesty’s wrong, and I salute Donald Trump for focusing on it. He has a colorful way of speaking. It’s not the way I speak, but I’m not going to engage in the media’s game of throwing rocks and attacking other Republicans. I’m just not going to do it.”

“I like Donald Trump,” Cruz said. “He’s bold he’s brash. And I get that it seems the favorite sport of the American media is to encourage some Republicans to attack other Republicans. I ain’t gonna do it. I’m not interested in Republican-on-Republican violence.”
