expect selloff in global equities, says someone in the comments.
looking at vanguard global equities fund as a rough measure, it looks like it is about 60% USA and 40% non-USA equities. yikes...
aren’t stocks the best safe haven in the long term? That implies that the tide will go out but come back in stronger later? however, Grexit is still to come, so there may be two phases? more yikes...
Grexico
This is chaotic short term but bullish long. Greece never qualified to be in the EU. It means less money from people that earned it flushed down the Greek cesspool of corruption. I think it won’t take markets very long to adjust to that fact. The money going into Greece was always going to outweigh what was going in. it’s that simple.
One should not even have money in the stock market that they need for 5-10 years so that means being able to deal with watching it go up and down which is hard. A sell-off may be a buying opportunity for some. If invested one has to be prepared for corrections at any time. The US has been the place to invest over the last 3+ years. But nowadays it is all so intertwined that there is no safe haven.
July 20th...will be the Exit unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat.
