He has it in his head that we should just skip over the preliminaries and go straight to a shooting war.
If we did that, we would be fighting our own National Guard troops, and perhaps the regulars. I doubt this president cares a damn about any controls on the use of military force domestically.
You have to allow for time for sides to be formed and opinions to manifest across the broader population. If you don’t, you will be fighting your neighbors..and friends..

Yes, and they would shoot...I never thought that would happen in my lifetime, but I am convinced it is so. The military only has persons of deeply held morale convictions (conservative Christianity) as a minority (they always have been...but they are much smaller than even ten years ago). Real Christians have been unable to stay with the military. The influx of open homosexuals has contributed to this. Goodness, the heads of each service basically told each group that if you don’t like homosexuals, then maybe you don’t belong.
Also, the average American is NOT very moral anymore. So, between having to draw recruits from an immoral population pool, and the military becoming more or less hostile towards conservative Christians....you better realize that those bearing arms for the nation may not hesistate to fire if ordered (something unthinkable 10 years ago). BTW - I hope I and entirely wrong in this estimation/speculation.

Was like that in first one TOO.. some may change after the shooting starts.. but not all.
