Fine. Then I can vote in any election I want. What about conservatives flooding the NYC polling places? California? How about Florida.

Only if you register to vote using the federal registration form.

For state and local elections that registration can ask whatever they want. So picture this, a voter goes in to vote and immediately get separated into 2 lines. One for those that registered using the state form (they can vote in federal, state, local elections) and those that registered using the federal form (they can only vote in the federal election). Tell me that voter won’t be a flippin’ when they get told they can’t vote for their state and local reps.
