As long as it’s his own money (not taxpayer money), I say go for it!
I Agree with Gates that the true 21st century energy source will need to be at least 1/4 the cost of cheapest coal/natural gas. imho it should be 1/10th the cost of cheapest coal/natural gas. That solar and wind just don’t cut it. They won’t be as cheap or reliable as energy needs to be.
Its his money - fine.
But I highly suspect a good part of his money is simply going to groups who lobby the government for crony-capitalist breaks for themselves or for fascistic central-planning green-energy schemes.
As long as he’s already paid his taxes on it, fine. But of course he hasn’t.
imho, in order to have limited government you need unlimited natural resources. The way you get there is to kill the cost of energy and water.
There can be no better investment of public tax dollars than those moneys that are invested in R&D to kill the cost of energy and water.
I agree, but Democrats/progressives have the opposite view. Their goal is to make energy and water as expensive as possible.
So, how many solar panels did he buy?
as long as its his own money, I don’t care
Nuclear is the best bet, but they won’t recognize it.
Dear Bill: please send money.
I have renewable energy!
Every morning I get up, drink coffee, and...my energy is renewed!
So, how many solar panels did he buy?
..............
Gates thinks solar panels are cute and fashionable. He has solar panels on his own house because he wants to be cute and fashionable. But Gates also says that solar panels are not the true 21st century solution. That will only come from solutions that collapse the cost of energy to a fraction of the cheapest energy today.
I agree with Gates on this.
Nuclear is the best bet, but they wont recognize it.
..............
The US federal government is disgraceful on this currently.
imho it should be part of the pubbie plank to kill the cost of energy.
We have re-formatted the mining of coal and the extraction of NG and we're pretty good at it both in cleanliness and efficiency and STILL someone wants a piece of pie to drop down
Why not just adapt our machinery, do what our Paps did ... ("Hey kid ... that's just the way it is ... PICK THE DAMNED THING UP and let's get going")
Accept what is what it is and IF the sun shines brighter one day ... cool .... but until then, we've wasted a good 40 years and gabillions (screw your bil, Bill) chasing rainbows, but developing better ways for the traditional methods and products
But as long as fear can get something really stupid, like a flag, to disappear ... we are SO infantile
BG doesn't give a rat's derriere for alternative energy, he's waiting for the common core kids to get out and drone for him and his fantasy of world domination
His money, his business.
Its his money - fine.
But I highly suspect a good part of his money is simply going to groups who lobby the government for crony-capitalist breaks for themselves or for fascistic central-planning green-energy schemes.
...............
Gates is not in favor of solar or wind. He doesn’t think they’ll ever get cheap enough or reliable enough to be true 21st century solutions.
To get to true 21st century solutions to energy that cut its price to a fraction of current prices — Gates thinks 4th generation msr reactors are the way to go.
I think that’s a good candidates among others.
I general I agree with gates on his points about energy.
Wow, that makes me feel good!
..............
I would feel better if the pubbies in general and cruz in particular took it as a pubbie plank position to kill the cost of energy.
Proves having good ideas when young does not mean one has the same later on.
Actually energy is not renewable, as it is expended entropy is increased and all of the system has less useable energy.
