Don’t blame Reagan it was his Chief of Staff Howard Baker who dropped the ball and went hunting during the summer break that allowed Kennedy and the AFL-CIO to consolidate their smear campaign against Bork. Reagan was poorly served by many.
I didn’t remember that, but Howard Baker was always a big TN disappointment.
