Any joint funds will be gone before she sees the outside of a correctional facility. If she's co-owner of a house, well, what a pity about the foreclosure. There are ways of circumventing the "rules". Hope her husband has a smart attorney to help him with that, it's worth the legal fees.
Have her sign everything over to him because, “honey, we need to get a second mortgage to pay your lawyer so I need your signature” and immediately file for divorce.
