Keep up the mormon bashing. This is partially why we are being crushed. we are divided. We get our *** handed to us this week over obamacare and now gay marriage but some zealots here are gleefully using this thread as an anti-mormon opportunity.

1. Does pointing out annotated true and corrects facts pertaining to the LDS Church constitute Mormon bashing? ... Really?

2. By we, I presume you mean conservatives. While it is true that a few unelected civil servants have made a mockery of the constitution and the doctrine of rule by law, I fail to see where it in any way is the result of pointing out annotated true and corrects facts pertaining to the LDS Church. If I am not correct, please explain.

I have never met you, but I am willing to bet that based on your reaction to exposure to the truth concerning Mormonism, that you are a member of that non-Christian religion. If so, you have my sympathy and my strong encouragement to take a hard non-biased look at your faith while you still have time on this earth.

I expect the church already has a plan. My guess is that it will ultimately abandon civil marriage to the government and perform only temple marriages. The rules will be simple - get your civil marriage at the court then go to the temple for the religious ceremony. I expect church officials will be banned from performing ANY marriages and church buildings cannot be used for ceremonies or receptions of any kind. It will be a sucky arrangement but may be necessary.

There is a certain element of truth to what you say, but I've also noticed that there are some organized religions who will continue to be helpful and of service even if you don't provide them a revenue stream.

I would certainly count Mormons in that group and all the more so because of their very conservative pro-American voting behavior which is second to no other major (one million members plus) denomination.

That fact alone certainly doesn't prove that they are God's chosen church (or even if he has one), but if he did, it would at least put them in the top tier of candidates.

I doubt that the method of coping which you suggest would by more than a little time. What is to stop an LGBT couple from going the civil marriage route and then showing up at a temple to demand a church blessing for the same?

Let them try to enforce compliance. What's that saying about a wounded and cornered animal?

I consider that possible outcome to be a blessing in disguise. Forcing churches to become either hot or cold, instead of the lukewarm feel-good pablum many pass off as the Gospel.

A temple marriage (blessing) is strictly a religious right or ceremony. It is not a public accommodation like a for profit business. I think a purely religious ceremony that has no legal affect of any kind would be protected by the first amendment.
