While some churches have, or claim to have, prophets, very few have profits. Most churches should have expenses equal to or greater than their income. Virtually everything they spend their money on is or should be deductible (at least until the Gaystapo re-writes the Internal Revenue Code), thus they would not have a TAXABLE income. Some churches may even be able to apply for special government freebies that they could not do as an exempt organization. When life gives you lemons make lemonade.
Real estate tax for a 20,000 sq foot property near downtown in a city could be quite high. I’m not sure about income tax on a pastor’s income.
Some cities have a “luxury tax” that includes pianos and artwork, though that’s rarely used where I live.
The bigger issue is that donations will no longer be tax deductible. This is HUGE.
