The real question is not was the South right, but would you support secession today. I ask because I've seen pro Union FReepers indicate they would fight FOR the Feds if any State tried to leave the US now. It is appalling that they are effectively saying, "I'm an American first, and Christian/conservative/liberty-lover second."

So, what say you?

It would depend on how that secession was tried. After consultation with the other states and agreement on matters that might have the potential to cause conflict? I wave goodbye and say go in peace. Walking out without discussion, refusing responsibility for debt and other national obligations, and shooting up a fort on your way out? Not so much.

I am coming to the conclusion that secession is tantamount to survival. The "Union" currency, and those who manipulate it are in the process of slowly getting us all killed.

There are people who would condemn themselves and their families to misery and destruction all for the sake of preserving an illusion of a Utopian idea that was never really true in the first place.
