Cementing a victory for President Barack Obama on his trade agenda, the House of Representatives passed legislation Thursday providing financial aid and training for those workers displaced by global trade.
The trade adjustment assistance [TAA] bill was approved easily 286-138, with the bulk of votes coming from House Democrats.
But less than two weeks ago many of those same Democrats blocked legislation to give the President fast track authority to negotiate trade deals and raised doubts about whether it could be resuscitated. That episode highlighted the party's deep divisions on the issue of trade and delivered an embarrassing, although short term, blow for the President hours after he traveled to Capitol Hill and urged Democrats to stand with him.
In the end it was Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, and House Speaker John Boehner who rescued the President's trade package.

Democrats held out for a clause to send you to 16 weeks of community college after you become an unemployed machinist because a private venture firm of American business investors opened a $3.00 per hour machine shop in Saigon to make car parts for General Motors.

I blame republicans completely. Obama is what he is. Republicans are not what they say. Republican legislators should be shunned at every occasion. I really just mean to turn your backs to them and refuse to speak to them. The media will back us.

That’s right! Poor dumb Americans get up and go to work so the lazies of all creeds and colors don’t have to. And you give them permission to take at least a third of what you earn out of your families mouths and yours so they can eat, live, be educated and kept healthy for free. What’s that word everyone is so up in the air about? Oh, yeah..slavery! But the Communist/Marxists still call it “freedom”. You couldn’t melt and pour the “freedom” middle class America has on any minority deadbeat.
Obama can now put the world to work and put all American’s on Welfare
