I’m hearing sellers have to offer six month money back guarantees?
Hardly bother selling, the last deadbeat bidder was enough for a while.
Sometimes buy nos parts and oddball items I can use for stock props.
Today these hypocrites have lost our biz as I just ended all auctions that were going on. They will certainly be calling to find out why. That will be a very enjoyable conversation for me.
I like eBay in spite of their many warts. Sometimes I have to step away for awhile. But this is silly. I see all sorts of depraved things on there at times.
I wonder if they will ban Civil War movies.
Amen and AMEN!.
Two of my listings . . .
Folding forward pistol grip for Hi Point carbines. 4595TS, etc.
BSA Lum80 Professional Sport Flashlight for Hi-Point carbine
. . . were blown off the air, along with this message (underlines mine):
"After reviewing your eBay account, it looks like you havent followed our Assault Weapons Parts and Accessories policy. We understand that you may not have been aware of this policy or that this may have been an oversight, so we're including some policy information to help you with your future listings. We also had to take the following actions:
- Listings that didn't follow eBay guidelines have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
You listed a part or accessory that fits multiple firearms and mentioned it fitting or being usable with a firearm (The Hi-Point Carbine) that eBay considers as an assault weapon. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you only relist this item if you remove the reference to the assault weapon while continuing to list other firearm fitment. We would have loved to explain this to you over a phone call, however, we were unable to reach you when we called. (No message on answering machine or on "Missed Calls" on my cell phone.)
Due to numerous laws and regulations regarding the sale of assault weapons (including parts and accessories for assault weapons), these items aren't allowed on eBay.
You may list accessories that would fit a variety of different weapons, such as scopes, sites, and shoulder straps. However, if you sell these items, you may not mention assault weapons in your listing.
Listings describing parts or accessories for assault weapons will be removed, including items that do not attach to assault weapons.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with this information and be sure that your current and future listings follow these guidelines. If they dont, they'll be removed and we may, at our sole discretion, decide not to refund your fees. It could also result in additional actions, including loss of buying and selling privileges on eBay."
I changed "carbine" to "rifle" and they were accepted - and sold. Proving yet once again "A rose by any other name . . .".
[sidebar] A few years ago they blew one of my auctions off the air because I used the common identifier when I listed "Lyman bullet seater for the 6.5MM Jap". They said that it was "offensive to some people".
I put it back up under "6.5MM Nipponese", with this explanation in the description:
I cannot use a technical description of this article as the PC Thought Police at eBay deem it objectionable. Let me just say that this cartridge was used by those wonderful folks who brought us Pearl Harbor and the Bataan Death March, among other things."
The item was accepted - and sold.
Sales have been very bad since Hussein became POTUS.....
eBAY is the 800lb gorilla...though.
