His wife made their clothing from gaudy polyester material of hideous patterns, not unlike the stuff used for a shower curtain. Both Mr. & Mrs. matched perfectly, except he wore pants and she a skirt.
Years ago, I found a stash of original pink flamingos in a Leominster attic. They were put up there, unused and unopened in their original packaging, where cats ultimately had litters and crapped. The desire to get to these relics prompted me to throw caution to the wind and retrieve them. It was a traumatic, filthy, and smelly experience, but I'm glad I saved them.
I know his niece very well (he her godfather) and we always have a good giggle over her relation to the pink flamingo.
Tackiness has lost an irreplaceable icon in Mr.Featherstone who was very humble over his contribution to trailer parks around the world.
I lived right outside of Fitchburg for 1.5 years! Did not know he was “the guy” who made flamingos!
