Well, I agree with Cruz as it concerns the first TPA Bill that was passed in the Senate. The House version is a different story, hence his changed vote.
People are making this far more complicated then it is regarding Cruz....sheep startle easy and then run...which is exactly what happened here on FR.
It would be helpful if people didn’t get carried away before they even know what’s really going on.
For me I know enough about Cruz to give him the room needed to do whatever he thinks best...including changing from one stance to another...because the Demorats are cheats and swindlers and will appear however they choose to play their hands, which is seldom what appears to be.
Cruz stated that the first vote had been bought by allowing the export-import bank to survive.
Face it, Cruz didn't expect this much reaction against him over this.
And the GOP itself is going to pay dearly for this treason!
From the article:
Since the Senate first voted on TPA, there have been two material changes. First, WikiLeaks subsequently revealed new troubling information regarding the Trade in Services Agreement, or TiSA, one of the trade deals being negotiated by Obama.
That is not a material "change". It was a material discovery of what he voted for. He voted to fast track a bill that was really bad. The bill didn't change, he just "discovered" what was in it. Sessions was right all along and Ted was wrong all along.
Second, TPAs progress through the House and Senate appears to have been made possible by secret deals between Republican Leadership and the Democrats.
Again that is not a change in the Bill, just in the procedures to get it passed.
Anyone who says Ted Cruz changed his vote because of "material changes" in the bill is deluded. He changed his vote because he stopped dead in the polls and the money train from the grassroots dried up.
