try Ghostery on your machine. I go to these sites now, and while it’s not like a text-only site, it’s much faster. It blocks or stops the scripts from running when you get there. Breitbart, Forbes, they all run smoothly now.

is ghostery a browser? I’m using pale moon right now and it definitely bogs on scripts.
Ghostery is awesome! On FR it stops Google Analytics, but on a lot of that stuff on other sites, there can be 20 things stopped in their tracks. I have GOT to get this put on my wife’s machine.
This changes everything. When surfing the web, my computer is now as fast as it was a few years ago!
