It’s like the Twilight Zone episode, “The Monsters are Due on Maple St.”
That “Twilight Zone” episode is actually a very apt analogy. I always used to actually dislike the episode, because I found the portrayals of the residents too over-the-top. Was always accustomed to seeing, in real life, fellow Americans made of sterner stuff; part of our longtime culture of independence and individualism, unlike so many other parts of the globe.
But looking at the current generational crop of Americans, and how they are led by the nose with every calculated PC dictate, I find the tv-episode and its portrayals almost too reserved! My opinion of my fellow American citizens has now descended to gutter-level. A conservative supposedly has faith in the individual over the state. At this point, I have ZERO faith in either.
