I like and admire Senator Jeff but answer this:

Why did Senator Jeff vote YES on the SECRET Iran deal which was truly treaty material?

Patriot is right.

There is no legitimate need to ram this through at this time. And what little we know about it ain’t good (I know, that blasted Internet again - misinformation and all).

will receive a final cloture vote in the Senate on Tuesday morning

According to Wikipedia, cloture requires sixty votes:

In 1975, the Democratic Senate majority, having achieved a net gain of four seats in the 1974 Senate elections to a strength of 61 (with an additional Independent caucusing with them for a total of 62), reduced the necessary supermajority to three-fifths (60 out of 100).[12] However, as a compromise to those who were against the revision, the new rule also changed the requirement for determining the number of votes needed for a cloture motion's passage from those Senators "present and voting" to those Senators "duly chosen and sworn". Thus, 60 votes for cloture would be necessary regardless of whether every Senator voted. The only time a lesser number would become acceptable is when a Senate seat is vacant. For example, if there were two vacancies in the Senate, thereby making 98 Senators "duly chosen and sworn", it would only take 59 votes for a cloture motion to pass.[10]

The new version of the cloture rule, which has remained in place since 1975, makes it considerably easier for the Senate majority to invoke cloture.

The last Senate vote on fast-track was 62-37. So we need to flip three votes.

GOP Leaders Set to Enable “ObamaTrade” With Fast Track for President 19 January 2015

Many Republican defenders of TPA are insisting that Fast Track is no big thing to make a fuss over, and that in no way should it be considered a transfer of power to Obama. However, in a January 6 press conference, the Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell, committed the sin of candor and acknowledged what all sensible observers already knew to be the fact: that TPA is “an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president.”
"Yeah, we're in active discussion on TPA, trade promotion authority,” McConnell told reporters. “It's an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president, but that's how much we believe in trade as an important part of America's economy.”

In January?!

We need to flip three votes

My understanding is that this version of fast-track, the one now to go before the Senate, does not include TAA, and that without TAA, Democrat Senators may flip and vote "no."

So, even those Freepers who are "represented" by Democrat Senators should call them and urge them to vote "no." You could always quote organized labor sources who are against it. This might persuade some Democrats.

Here we go again....

Sessions runs around with his fire on fire because the Senate is going to vote against him and pass TPA.

Cruz detractors jump on yet another ocassion to cast dispersions on Cruz who has been constant in his support for TPA. Of course, none of Ted’s detractors will offer up which candidate they prefer....(probably Rand Paul).

Yet there is only one way to find out if Sessions is proven right. That would be to pass TPA and have the president put forth his proposed trade deal.

Once he does that, and by virtue of TPA, the trade bill will be posted and available to the public for 60 days.

I am not surprised at the obsession over Ted Cruz as opposed to Scott Walker who also favors TPA — obviously Ted’s detractors are more fearful of Ted becoming the nominee.
