That’s right. The Pope is using the man-made climate change fad as a crutch to support his 19th century, Marx-derived views against modernity, capitalism, the free market, the Industrial Revolution, etc.

Interesting - there was even a 19th century opera written to characterize these so-called evils - Das Rheingold by Richard Wagner. An evil, hunch-backed dwarf swears to forsake all love in order to unleash the power of a natural resource - gold - which he steals, and by means of which he sets up an underground sweatshop factory, employing other dwarves as worker/slaves to mine more and more gold. His aim is to amass so much gold, by means of his slave labor, he can rule the world.

What the Pope says is so depressingly familiar.
