One month after the deadly May 17 shootout at Twin Peaks prompted the unprecedented mass arrests of 177 bikers, officials are releasing limited information and say disclosure of certain evidence, including videos of the incident, would compromise their investigation.
The incident was of such a rare scale and variety that McLennan County officials had never experienced anything like it.
Their response after the shooting stopped has been criticized from some corners and spawned at least one federal civil rights lawsuit and a judicial complaint.
Now, as the media, bikers and their relatives push for answers, many questions remain unanswered because of the sheer magnitude of the incident: nine dead, 20 wounded, 177 arrested, 27 vehicles seized, 488 weapons found on scene to date.
Officials are quick to point out the criminal justice system does not work like it does on TV crime shows, despite the publics expectations.
This is an investigation. The term investigation carries with it a careful and impartial consideration of all the evidence and all the facts, said 19th State District Judge Ralph Strother. It is not done on CSI time. It is done in real life and in the real world. It is to everyones best interests that all parties know everything so that we can be fair to everyone, and that cannot be done overnight.
The incident at Twin Peaks apparently was not captured on video by any innocent bystanders or it already would have surfaced, as in the case of the McKinney, Texas, pool party where teenagers filmed former police officer David Casebolt flinging a girl to the ground and drawing his gun on other teens who did not obey his orders.

That doesn't work once it gets to the forensics dept. The bikers were immediately made to give up their passwords so it's anyone guess how many videos were deleted.
>>> Very interesting kill shots. Gonna leave it at that. <<<
A rifle sighted in at 100 yards will be a couple of inches high at 50 yards.
A rifle sighted in a 300 yards will be about a foot high at 100 yards.
So a chest shot at 50 yards will turn into a head shot with a rifle sighted at 300 yards
Just generalizing. It was a point I’d considered earlier but lacking specifics for the rifles used I didn’t want to bring it up. With all the options available for the M- style rifles it’s impossible to tell what the police were firing.
You note:”The one biker who had a bullet go through his arm, enter his chest and exit his back was probably shot with a small-caliber, high velocity, fully jacketed round: exactly what the police use in their M-14/AR-15 rifles.”
That was Reginald Weathers, a Bandido who testified at his bond reduction hearing. I wondered as well about the likely source of his wound.
His testimony seems to indicate he was shot while he was on the ground. The police dispatch audio at the scene reported a biker crawling on the ground, still shooting.
“Weathers testified that he and about 15 other Bandidos from the Dallas area had just pulled into the restaurant parking lot and saw Cossacks lining the patio area. He said he hadnt even parked his motorcycle before Cossacks yelled at club President David Martinez that he couldnt park in a particular spot.
Weathers said he felt like the Cossacks were disrespecting Martinez, and he rushed over and told them not to talk to his president that way. Suddenly, a Cossack punched him in the face, he said.
He said he put his head down to cover up and defend himself and heard gunshots seconds later. He was being pulled to the ground and was being hit in the face, he said. Later, he was shot in the arm. The bullet passed through his arm, entered his chest and exited the other side, he said.”
“After being shot, Weathers ran to take cover behind cars near Don Carlos restaurant, he said. Police arrived quickly and told everyone to get on the ground, he said, estimating the entire incident lasted four or five minutes.”
He knows whether he was on the ground when he was shot or not, although the word “Later” does not indicate how much later or if he was still on the ground.
Before you run and hide, don’t become confused with the meaning of affidavit as another (now disappeared gang apologist) did not knowing the difference from his criminal wishful fantasy.
Nice friends you want there.
You and your troll friends keep insisting. On things that just ain’t so.
A good analysis of AR trajectories at M4Carbine.net:

Not only have some accepted it, they have applauded it. not only that, when the Government decides to take out a group that they consider a threat to their tyranny, say the Tea Partiers or adherents to Constitutional Government which includes Second amendment advocates and supporters. Those who now cheer on and applaud the action[s]of the Government now will be on the front lines cheering them on, aiding and abetting them. Why? Because they worship at the altar of authority and power. Like the dog returning to its vomit, the sow returning to its mire, and the burned bandaged hand of the fool reaching again for the fire, they can't help themselves. It was demonstrated in Germany in the 30s and early 40s and is being demonstrated in the United States of America today. Whether it is Jews, motorcycle clubs, of Tea Party members, or legitimate gun owners matters not. What matters is that those in authority declare them undesirable, trouble makers, and criminals.
Concerning the motorcycle clubs, any law violation they commit can be handled by the Courts, a/k/a Due Process of Law as described and provided for in the Constitution. And the Government moles and judas goats have alleged that they have committed everything from singing too loud in church to unlawful carnal knowledge. If they have, fine. Charge them with the appropriate offenses, arrest them for the alleged offense and let them have their day in Court.
We watched “American Sniper” last night and it occurs to me today now I understand you much better. You are so eager to tell me who my friends are, allow me to tell you who your friends are. While I have made it clear who I am and why I am here you are quite reluctant to tell us who you are or why you are here. Let me tell you who your friends are.
In my youth “The War” was in Vietnam Nam. There were community organizers and agitators. Disrupters who wanted to “Bring the War Home”. The Abbie Hoffmans, the Black Panthers. That crowd. They did not mean to end the war, they wanted the bloodshed and violence to happen on American streets. American soil.
Now I understand you much better. You just want to “Bring the War Home”. You think it is only fair that we should have the experience folks in Ramadi and Falujha had. If we (collectively, because that is how you and your friends see everything, collectively) can do that to Iraqis then we should have that done to us. So that would put you in the category of friends of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn and company. These are the dogs YOU lie down with. Enjoy your fleas.
Scrunchies.
You could choke somebody with those.
“Right wing, bitter clinger, bible toting, militia type” fleas, like we all are, on FR.

Just wait until they knock on Spurt’s door.
He will not have seen it coming.
Maybe he just digs assless chaps.
He should watch Yuri Bezmenov’s 1978 interview and realize at best he is what Yuri refers to as a “useful idiot”. Of course you are correct. He will be totally stupefied when he finds out too late the reward he will receive for his faithful endeavors actually is.
Me, I am pretty happy with the fleas that come from my Bible and Arms Locker...
Maybe they’ll eat him last.
Finest fleas, are those!

Sorry, but you are the one picking the friends. No one dragged you to this thread to defend motorcycle gangs.
Who do you contend I want to Bring the War Home to? Your bike gang heros are the ones that bring war home.
My sin is to give anyone who stands with criminal bike gangs some benefit of the doubt toward their intentions.
Common sense logic tells us to associate with and stand up for people we want to be identified with.
I make no arguement that everyone at Twin Peaks was directly involved with the shoot out, but more than a few were. The others caught up in the arresting obviously were difficult to tell from the real bad guys, i.e. back to paragraph two.
In the end many may be found not guilty of actual violence, of those, many will likely be found to have been illegally in possession of a firearm at the least. The rest who end up being acquitted, will then see the cost (their legal costs) of closely associating with criminals.
I have many good friends that ride and who sort of dress up in pretend gang style. I dare say none would have ever been actually associated with the criminal gangs.
Is it a necessary part of casual riding to “dress up” the gang part? I can not see the benefit other than fantasy pretend.
Upon reading your “in forum” posts I see I have to apologize. You are an ardent 2nd A supporter and send Cruz checks. I still can’t grasp your position here but you have a right to it. Please forgive me for including you in the list of despicable trolls. I will write another check to Cruz as penance.
We got to keep the Cruz missile fueled up!
The “Waco” Constitutional arguments attracted my initial attention. I got “caught up” in Waco Twin Peaks when the pro gang defenders began acting like a biker gang with personal derogatory jabs, threats and even death threats trying to intimidate other posters to shut them up instead of debating the issues or sticking to the facts, just like the damn worthless motorcycle gangs.
I respond with as much common sense logic as I can when there is a legitimate point of contention or opinion on the situation, but I also get back in the face of those that threaten or just blindly refuse to recognize the reality of the Constitution as it relates to what took place and the people involved.
Through many encounters since Twin Peaks has been on FR, I do not suffer fools and bullies kindly.
I think the tone of most of the threads and particularly the asinine posts related to Waco Twin Peaks nor the blind defending of violent criminals do not reflect well on the purpose and people of Free Republic, a law abiding Constitutionally conservative forum.
I will be happy to debate the issues and defend what’s right as long as those that oppose the truth, whatever their reasons, carelessly cause harm here.
