Wish I could find the story now. It was around 2002 or so. Some reporter was asking JPII if there was any world leader had a difficult time communicating with, and JPII said the only one was Clinton, because Clinton kept dancing around policy discussions, telling the Pope how much he admired all the artwork in the Vatican and asking whether he could purchase some. JPII responded that it wasn’t for sale and Clinton retorted “Name your price.”
