"Storm is a Dutch surname. Likely Afrikaner. Nothing to do with Stormfront." I grew up in West Michigan where everybody was Dutch, Half the phone book was "Vander AA to Vander Zee. Never came across the surname "Storm."

I grew up there too. Heard all manner of “Dutchman” jokes. Moved away, somebody told a Pollack joke, and I was confused.

I've never seen "Storm" as a surname period outside of a stage name. Roof could be Dutch with the "two o's", but could just as easily be English (Rolfe or Roof) or German (as Ruff) as well with a spelling change.

"Storm" is a surname in my family tree. Traces back to The Netherlands via New Amsterdam (now NYC). One historical example is
Dirck Storm.
