As a “white guy” who has sat for an hour (and more) in a “black church” on numerous occasions — your question baffles me.

From the available information, it seems this guy was a stranger who shows up at a Wednesday night meeting at a black church, a meeting attended by very few church members. Very odd.

Do you wander in to black churches where no one knows you and sit in on meetings?

But that’s just how Christians are. If a stranger joins a Bible study, they tend to be welcoming.
